FSD

The car drove itself (and us) over 200km to the chargers in Thrumpster. But then it parked in the wrong spot, the one next to the actual charger. So close 😉.

Earlier in the trip we were surprised by the confetti celebration on the car’s screen, congratulating us for a 100km straight run of using FSD (Full Self Driving). This time, we were ready to take a photo of it. You’re welcome! 🥳 It’s really the robot congratulating us for staying out of its way, the smug bastard. We also checked at 200km, but no additional celebration graphic.

Charging

Thrumster is one of those places I would never have visited, except that the car navigates us there to charge. The humans needed to discharge anyway, so it was good timing. Park, use the amenities, make a phone call, hop back in the car and drive off. No need to wait around. 16 minutes of charging topped up 183km of range, taking the battery from 45% to 90%.

    I believe you also get celebration at 250, 500 and 1000 but haven't achieved any of them yet. My longest streak is 240

    OMG you waited a whole 16 minutes, that's enough time to get a drink, toilet and a bit of a stretch instead of standing with your hand on a pump, waiting inside for the teller, paying walking back to your car, moving it and then taking a break to do the above.

        Tesla Tripping I did those things doing a Canberra to GC (return) trip, except at the same place as you.
        I was low, maybe 20% and connected to charge, had dinner, grabbed supplies from Woolies and then went to the toilet. While using the facilities I kept getting warnings to move and I slowly increased 70%, 80%, 90% and then 100% to give myself sufficient time to finish. Walked back to the car at 98% and continued on.

        The first time I've had a car tell me to hurry up on the toilet haha

    200+km on FSD. My longest streak is 10km! Too many interventions needed around here and I don't travel long distances usually. Still worth it but hopefully the new version will be better.

      Biing Yin No. I think that’s only applicable when the stalls are all full, or nearly full.

        Tesla Tripping I've had it at Gosford with only 3 out of 12 stalls occupied. Others say when 50% occupied. Unfortunately Tesla does not define what "busy" is
